Kelly is passionate about teaching and supporting parents, learning specialists, counselors, and leaders as they strengthen their communities and deepen their sense of self-care and belonging. As a mother and long-time meditator, Kelly is a deep believer in the combined power of contemplative practice and solid mental-health skills to transform lives.

After working for 25 years with adolescents and children, I have learned that the best way to support youth is to support the adults in their lives.

 Parenting Workshops

header-bg.png

As parents, we are faced with the unique challenge of raising strong, healthy children, while making sure we ourselves get the nurture and care we need.  Our busy, fast-paced lives leave little time to connect with other parents who are often dealing with the exact same challenges we are. In addition, we are often too plagued by guilt and shame to admit that we need support in raising our children.

I help parents tap into the rich peer network that exists beyond our packed schedules and the “I’ve-got-it-covered” facades. Beyond therapy, my unique interactive workshops get to the core issues that our children are facing- stress, peer pressure, and loneliness-- and build an instant parent community that can transform all of our lives.

What parents are saying about Kelly’s workshops

It’s not group therapy; it’s not a ‘woo-woo’ session. It’s a very simple, real and scientifically-backed approach to identifying and practicing sustainable and ‘shareable’ awareness, connection, and a rejuvenating life perspective.
I describe Kelly’s workshop as ‘filling up my love tank.’ As parents, we are always giving and it feels exhausting and can lead to frustration and anger. This course gave me the tools to slow down and start to receive my own care.
I came away feeling inspired and connected to a wonderful group of people I may not have otherwise known. I can’t imagine anyone not benefiting from this!

 Faculty Development & Consulting

As caregivers and educators, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day challenges that arise among our teenagers.  Disconnection among team members is prevalent as individuals start to feel burned out.

I help educational communities discover unique ways to work more effectively together, replenish their energy and passion, and reconnect to the rich resources at hand. Through full-day retreats, development seminars, and workshops, I offer that boost of hope and creativity we all need to help the young people in our lives thrive.

What Education Professionals and Care Providers are saying about Kelly’s Seminars and Programs

We invited Kelly to work with the UW Board of Deans and Chancellors at our annual retreat. Her focused workshop was highly interactive and very well received. What impressed me the most was that her approach to mindfulness and compassion resonated with the entire group. In fact, several of the Deans have reached out to her independently to work with their faculty. This a testament to the quality of her organizational and moderating skills and her engaging ability to deliver meaningful advice and the impact.
— Sean Sullivan, Ph.D. Dean of Pharmacy at the University of Washington
Training under Dr. Kelly Moore has been transformational.  I’ve learned more about my own capacity for personal and social change than I could have expected. She leads passionately and courageously while gracing participants with her wit, humor, and real life scenarios, allowing for a deeper connection to the material. Whether Dr. Moore is facilitating work addressing trauma and healing, equity and inclusion, understanding and coping with anxiety, or leading a cohort in collective liberation for social transformation- you can expect deep contemplative growth in the most supportive environment!
— Jacob Davis, M.Ed. School Counselor, Menlo School, Atherton, CA
Dr. Moore has an intuitive as well as intellectual command of every dimension of human development. She is an expert listener; her skill in facilitating tranquility in the face of serious strife is responsible for saving the friendships of a thousand 7th grade girls. Dr. Moore is as successful with an anxious 5th grade boy as she is with faculty and parents - in groups and in individual, confidential consultations.  Her breadth of experience and incisive knowledge make Dr. Moore a first choice as a speaker, a therapist, a facilitator, and a trusted confidante.
